Dr. George "Jake" True
Dr. George R. True III, "Jake," was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit as a child and felt the tug to ministry as a freshman in college in 2009. Jake studied at Zion Bible College, Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, and Liberty University. Jake has a passion for serving people, and helping them understand and experience God's presence. He also has a passion for teaching God's Word, and has a particular interest in the theological and experiential roots of Classical Pentecostalism in the Wesleyan Holiness and Anglican traditions.
While in college, Dr. True began serving in ministry as an intern. Later, in seminary, he began serving in pastoral ministry. He has served churches in Missouri, Maine, and now Illinois. In addition, Jake has been an educator, teaching students from Kindergarten all the way to the college level. Jake recently stepped into a new role as a hospital chaplain, providing spiritual care to people in their most vulnerable moments. Dr. True is an ordained minister with the Convention of Full Gospel Churches and an endorsed chaplain with Chaplaincy of Full Gospel Churches. He currently serves on the pastoral staff of Abundant Life Marion and as Chaplain Resident at Bon Secours Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. He and his wife live in Marion, Illinois.
